In RadioOptions, there is a table of radios which "work alike". In this table, for example, RADIO_FT840 is mapped to RADIO_FT900. My guess is that this issue is caused by the user working an FT-840, the code functionally mapping that radio to an FT-900, and subsequently reporting that the name of the actual radio is the FT-900.

It'll take a bit of digging to figure out where this happens, and a bit of work to split the "display" name from the "functional" name.
