|Summary||0002763: Serial Port Server: opens log file exclusively|
|Description||The serial port server writes to a log file with a name like "HRD-SerialPortSvr-YYMM-June-YYYY.txt"|
This file is locked for reading while the serial port service is running. The exclusive lock prevents other processes from reading the file. That makes the log file pretty useless, since a user must stop the process to examine the log file and learn the state of the process.
|Steps To Reproduce||1) Start the serial port service|
2) Find the log file. It's in the C:\Program Files (x86)\HRD Software LLC\Ham Radio Deluxe directory, by default.
3) use the "Type" command to try to look at the file.
BUG#1) It doesn't work because the file is locked for read by the serial port service process itself.
C:\Program Files (x86)\HRD Software LLC\Ham Radio Deluxe>type HRD-SerialPortSvr-1806-June-2018.txt The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.
