|Summary||0003350: "Version" tab of Global Settings dialog doesn't appear to do anything|
There's a "Version" page in the "Global Settings" dialog of the product. This page lists a couple of DLLs (namely, HRDSatation.DLL and Setup2.DLL) and some information about the DLLs.
It also has a "Validate HRD" button. Pressing this buton makes the computer busy for a few seconds, but doesn't appear to do anything. The content of the list isn't changed. I can't imagine why a customer would come to this dialog, or how they'd learn understand what it as telling them.
|Steps To Reproduce|
As far as I can tell, this dialog is vestigial. It seems to do some checksumming over the DLLs, then contacts the license server to see if the checksum matches the license server. The checksumming code is dubious, and the license server doesn't seem to respond. Since we're removing the old license server, we should do away with this dialog and the code under it.
